Nations expanded their military to defend their empire that they had and got
The nations would bulid up their military to for any type of war and to make themselves powerful
Countires had large military to make the citizens feel patriotic and to make a stronger government

Alliences
They wanted there nation to be the biggest and the most powerful one
Nationalism caused competition among the countries to overpover the other
Countries wanted natural resourses for the factories to make things but for war weapoms
European nation wanted new trade markets and the raw materials of these new regions
By creating alliences this made the country more powerful and look stronger
This causes competion between nations to get the best ally
Alliences were made to keep peace with powerful nations even though those nations didnt like each other
Countries wanted to get land to expand their empire to show power to the others
The citizens from each countries believed that there country was the best and powerful
