2. How did one invention lead to another?

 

One invention leads to another by thinking. what im trying to say is that when something comes out they try to make it better and when they realize they have invented a new thing. 

 

3. Why were factories called sweatshops?

 

They were called sweatshops because of the hot and the sweaty environment. Also because the labor sweated out the people.

 

4. Why were factories kept warm and humid?

 

They were kept warm and humid to prevent the cotton threads from breaking.

 

5. What illnesses resulted from factory work

 

Lung diseases, eye inflamations, tuberculosis, deafness and mouth cancers.

 

6. Why was there a substantial incidence of disability, disfigurement and death in factories?

 

Fingers, hand, arm, hair, clothes and feet to get caught in the machines

 

7. Why were childern desired as employees?

 

Childern were desired as employees because they were cheaper to employ and small to fit in small spaces and because they were fast.

 

8.What tasks did childern preform in factories?

 

Childern swept under the machines, they changed the bobbins of thread when empty.

 

9. What was the impact of a long term factory employment on childern?

 

Childern were permanetly disfigured or they were disabled by they years that they wrok there.

 

10. How had time, and the work day changed?

 

Thy work 12 to 14 hours for 6 days. The breaks were limited. and time was now the master of work pattern not nature. 

 

11. What was the impact of factory on the worker?

 

The workers say according to the reading that it was boring and it felt like they were being de-humanized.
