1. It encouraged Hitler Giving into Hitler only made him feel he could do what he wanted - without fear of being stopped.

2. Germany was growing stronger Allowed Germany to grow stronger meant it would be far more difficult to defeat.

3. Hitler was determined to conquer Eastern Europe -Hitler had made his plans clear the policy of appeasement was clearly doomed from the start - Hitler just lied.

4. Munich Agreement was a disaster Churchill said Czechoslovakia was sacrificed for nothing - Hitler had fooled everyone.

 

1.Germany deserved a fair deal- Germany treated too harshly at Versailles, so were only being given their rightful land.

2. Britain needed time -By giving Hitler what he wanted, Britain had more time to build up her armed forces.

3. Fear of another war - People wanted to avoid another terrible war and did everything possible.

4. Fear of Communism - It was felt better to support a strong leader of Germany rather than risk Communist takeover.

5. The British people had to want war- In 1938, public opinion was against war - so the policy of appeasement was sensible.

6. Britain needed time- By giving Hitler what he wanted, Britain had more time to build up her armed forces.

1. Why might it be said that Germany deserved a fair deal?

  - I think that Germany diserved a fair deal because if they were to have all of its land Germany would of never          wanted a war to get it back.

2. Why was giving extra land to Germany dangerous?

  - I think that giving extra land to Germany was dangerius because if they saw that they were just giving land to Germany they would want more. It made them stronger

3. Appeasement meant Britain and France gave Hitler what he wanted - why was this a bad idea?

  - I think this was a bad idea because hitler would get what he wanted and then threatened again to get more and more. By giving him what he wanted he thought he could have more and more. it made Germany stronger.

4. What did the policy of appeasement give Britain a chance to do?

  - The policy of appeasement gave britain a chance to do avoid war, build up military, and build factories

5. Is there any evidence to suggest appeasement was a popular idea in 1938?

  - It was a popular suggestion becauses peopeple wanted to avoid war and by giving him what he wanted they prevented the war at the time.

6. What did people want to avoid another war?

  - People wanted to aovid war because if they were in war the cities would be distroyed and people would die and get torsured.

7. Appeasement meant a strong German leader was supported - how did this benefit Britain and France?

  - This benefited Britain and France because they could say that they aovided a war and no people die.

8. With the policy of appeasement, the USSR became worried - what was the result of this?

  - Germany and the USSR became alies and said that they would not attck each other in war if there was one.

9. Why should the politicians of 1938 have realised Hitler would not keep to his promises at the Munich Conference?

  - i think that they should of realised it when we threanted to start another war if he didnt get what he wanted.

Appeasement 

 

Appeasement is a good thing in my opinion. I think that its a good thing because i just saved Britain from being in a war. Avoiding war is my biggest goal and I have exactly did that. Its a good thing because i just saved millions of lives and people matter. Appeasement was good because we were not prepared to be in another war we were just in one. Another reason was that hitler is happy with his land and we are happy with no war. Also,  if we stalled them we could grow our military and get stronger and stronger like germany.

Appeasement is wrong in so many ways. For one by giving Hitler what he wanted yes Chamberlain prevent a war. But he kept on bribing you and you didnt notice it was a pattern that was going to repeat and repeat. For example, if your at the dounut shop with your fluffy child and he wants one but he cant because hes on a diet then he starts to cry. So you being a good person buy him the dounut. The child knowing that you will do that every time hes going to keep on doing that. what appeasing to hitler you make britain look weak and unprepared to fight. Apeasement gave hitler confedince and strenght to realize that he could have it all. By giving hilter the land it made him stronger. Appeasment is a bad thing.
